Job Summary:

General laborer with a non-craft-specific role, capable of identifying hazardous conditions within their work environment. Possesses a broad understanding of the tasks involved in construction projects and operates under the guidance of the Site Foreman or Supervisor. This position involves performing manual labor to assist with various construction activities, which may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Primary Job Function:

  • Installation of fences, pumping water, carrying construction materials, shoveling or racking soils, flagging, fueling equipment, equipment watch, hand excavation around facilities and erosion control installation.

  • Assisting with the maintenance of equipment, vehicles and tools. 

  • Notifying the Foreman or Supervisor of any equipment deficiencies. 

  • Performing any other duty or task as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor and/or Foreman.

    Experience/Education:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience and relevant field experience within the pipeline construction industry.

  • High school degree, diploma or a GED.

  • TWIC card and CCSC, and safe-land (PEC) training are a plus.

    Competencies:

  • Identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Manage own time as directed by the Supervisor or Site Foreman.

  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Tasks require variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, and reaching to include walking and standing 100% of the time.

  • Frequent activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands to turn wrenches and valves.

  • Occasional use of arms to reach above the head and will occasionally work on ladders and climb stairs.

  • Frequent lifting and pulling of up to 50 lbs., and occasional lifting and pulling of 50 lbs. or more.

  • Exposure to flammable materials, extreme weather conditions, and construction hazards.

  • Communicating, hearing and seeing required for completion of essential functions.

  • Exposure to construction sites. 

  • Work hours are 10-12 hours per day.  Weekend work required on a job outlined basis.

    Other Criteria:

  • Complies with Strike’s policies and procedures.

  • Complies with Strike’s Drug & Alcohol Policy maintaining favorable drug testing results throughout employment.

  • Background and Hair follicle required.

  • Performs job safely with respect to others, property and individual safety.

  • Works effectively with others to encourage teamwork and productivity.

  • Eligible to work in the United States.
