Hanson Professional Services Inc. Senior Project Consultant in Corpus Christi, Texas

As a Senior Project Consultant, you’ll be part of a growing Hanson environment while working on exciting and challenging large-scale projects as part of a collaborative, experienced and diverse team.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Managed multiple, related projects in a coordinated way, achieving benefits that could not occur if the projects were handled separately

  • Manage multiple project managers on behalf of a contract, program or for a business unit

  • Identify, facilitate and manage opportunities to market Hanson services to existing and prospective clients

  • Prepare and oversee engineering design/analysis and plans/construction contract documents, as well as author technical documents such as engineering reports, specifications, and special provisions

  • Collaborate with senior technical staff

  • Provide direction and mentoring to engineering support staff

  • Develop scope/fee documents required for technical tasks

  • Managing project performance tasks (staffing, budget, schedule, and quality assurance)

  • Conduct site investigations, including determining problems, identifying alternative solutions, and providing recommendations

  • Develop and maintain client relationships

  • Assist project/contract proposal pursuits and assist with presentations for project pursuits

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Skills:

  • Must stay current with pertinent federal and state regulations

  • Must have a basic knowledge of project performance metrics, and experience managing multi-discipline projects

Soft Skills:

  • Must possess strong communication, leadership and team building skills

  • Must be able to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and public stakeholders

  • Must be able to build effective relationships with internal and external client bases and be able to effectively work with and manage project staff

  • Must have proven ability to comfortably speak publicly and interact positively with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors

  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skills

  • Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments is important

Education/Experience:

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field

  • A minimum of 25 years of Project Management and design experience in the field of civil engineering which includes:

  • Has successfully managed multi-discipline projects

  • Has one or more clients who consider them a trusted advisor and has generated repeat business with those clients

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, related projects and navigate complex activities that span business units, organizations, regions and/or cultures and has aligned results with organizational goals

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical or environmental engineering

Working at Hanson:

  • Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices

  • Must be willing to accept periodic out-of-town travel assignments

  • Must be willing and able to work overtime to meet project demands and deadlines

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
