Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will install, repair and modify structures. You will plan and complete work from initial layout to final assembly. You will install, plan and coordinate suspended ceiling tile applications. You will determine roofing work to be done, locate leaks and select the best method of repair. You will install and repair various flooring, i.e., vinyl, wood, or ceramic material. You will layout, cut, form, assemble, and install all types of insulating material on walls, ceilings and flooring. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to perform the following duties under normal supervision: 1) Working independently, making decisions, planning operations, showing job responsibility, and exercising initiative to construct, install and repair a variety of structures; 2) Interpreting instructions and specifications, including blueprints, receiving oral directions, written directions from supervisor, follow manufacturers' guides, catalogues, technical manuals, bulletins, codes, drawings, blueprints, charts, and maps; 3) Selecting the appropriate tools, equipment, and material needed at the worksite and determining repairs to be made; and 4) Performing a full range of carpentry, painting, roofing, tiling, and concrete forming to construct or repair buildings and structures. Education Additional Information This announcement uses the OPM Federal Wide direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
