Job Summary

Leads and direct three revenue contributing organizations: National Customer team managing customer relationships representing over $1B in annual revenues, Business Development Leads that help drive revenue opportunities with the balance of our managed accounts (250 customers representing over $3B in current revenues), and the Associated Business Development Managers who annually drive $20M in new revenues through T&D Services, Inc., Leads new business development largely through existing customers.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

This key position starts with a collaboration mindset which includes a multi-faceted Economic and Business Development focus.

  • Develop key relationships throughout AEP’s operating company’s leadership and customer experience organizations.

  • Key Segment Initiatives: Industrial, Commercial, Associated Business Development, Beneficial Electrification.

  • This role includes a sales goal across each segment.

  • Inspire your team to check and adjust to market changes, all while driving new revenue to AEP.

  • Responsible for proactively managing and be ultimately responsible for the development and successful implementation of strategic programs and offerings, blossoming new business, providing exceptional customer service, contract development and negotiation, and building long-term business relationships.

  • Delivering first in class service to our customers and communities.

  • Strategically initiate and cultivate partnerships that build sustainable business.

  • Create a One AEP customer experience by promoting economic development, business retention and expansion, cleaner energy resources, and efficient use of energy and electrification.

  • Identifying opportunities to better integrate corporate and AEP operating company service offerings.

  • Leverage existing EPRI and EEI partnerships to help grow our customer reach and success.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field of study.

  • Experience: 10 years in business development, account management, and related work experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters in Business Administration preferred. Demonstrated ability to drive business development opportunities.

  • Understanding of complex projects.

  • Creativity in problem solving.

  • Customer service approach to account management.

  • Demonstrated ability to strive fore and achieve financial goals.

  • Travel throughout AEP system and nationally.

Compensation Grade:

SP20-011

Compensation Range:

$152,707.00-198,520.00 USD
