Do you have experience working with MIG Welding, in TIG welding or both? Are you looking for a new position that will allow you to develop your skills and grow? Do you do your best work when you are hands on? We are currently hiring a MIG Welder to do metal manufacturing in a local lighting manufacturing company.
salary: $21 - $21.01 per hour
shift: Second
work hours: 1:30 PM - 10 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities
Starts power supply to produce electric current.
Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length or arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.
Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
Cleans and degreases weld joint or workplace.
Prepares broken parts for welding by grooving or scarping the surface.
Chips of excess welds, slag and spatter.
Positions and clamps components together or assembles them in jig or fixture.
Tacks assemblies together.
Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
The essential functions of this role include:
working in a smoke free environment
wearing steel toe shoes
working in a non-temperature controlled environment
manual lifting up to 50lbs
standing for 8 hours at one time
working up to 4 hrs of overtime per week
