Scope of Position: Develops and executes a product line strategy that supports the achievement of desired product line product development, sales growth and profitability for the Glass Core Business
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Leads, a cross-functional business team consisting of functional leads from Development, Division Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance (and works closely with market intelligence, marcomm, legal, IP, and HR as needed) to:
Develop and deploy product line strategies, lead new product launch
Manage day to day demand and supply issues, working towards optimal profitability and customer satisfaction for the product line.
Manage and provide guidance on finding the optimal solution (balancing the needs of Corning and the customer) to all existing and new products related to performance (i.e., specs, attributes, services), quality, share growth, customer needs (contract management).
Work with functional leads resolving product issues including ramp/volume needs, performance deficiencies, and overall quality and delivery performance
Provide guidance on monthly forecasting and monitor performance to revenue & profitability plan
Optimizes inventory management in conjunction with Supply Chain and finance related to the product line by coordinating information flow, as needed, between Forecasting, Sales, Manufacturing, and other parties as needed.
Leads, contributes and participates in product line and local manufacturing S&OP discussions
May get involved in supply chain disruption issues to influence or make decisions on global order and Development/Manufacturing prioritization.
Works closely with customer and internal technical teams to determine technical path and sets direction for D&E programs and business cases for investment as needed
Overall Responsibilities:
Addresses new product/special requests by developing a business canvas, including financials, to advocate for the creation of a new product family or program
Work with commercial technology, technology manager, sales, cross map divisions to understand the whole business value chain, define value proposition, develop business model and the execution plan
Understand downstream market requirements and assess competitive threats and implications for the business
Develop the strategy/execute on the 4Ps (product, price, placement and promotion) for the respective product line
Work with cross functional team such as Marcom, manufacturing and engineering team on new product launch
Develop and execute the product line planning process including the product line strategy, including the identification of critical projects to be undertaken for the year.
Leads the product line’s quarterly internal business review
Works with sales lead to execute a pricing strategy for the product line; make changes as needed
Works with Sales to execute a pricing strategy by setting floor pricing as needed, influencing pricing structure, optimizing product premiums, and ensuring value and profitability for product line.
Create short and long-term forecasting plans.
Works to develop value propositions that improve margins for Corning’s products and services and enable new/enhanced selling opportunities with customers.
Create an intellectual property and standards strategy for the product line.
Works with Program Management or New Business Development and Sales to approve quotes and ‘receive’ new products, as appropriate.
Develops a compelling market value proposition that differentiates Corning’s products and services in the marketplace.
Manage a portfolio of markets, in the case where the product line’s products hold different positions within the markets they reach.
Identifies the best mix for the market(s) through effective segmentation and portfolio rationalization.
Works with Manufacturing and Sales to identify opportunities to reduce complexity and cost reduction in the manufacturing process both at Corning’s plant(s) and the customer site, as appropriate.
Travel Requirements: 25-30%
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
BS Degree, required in an Engineering or Technical field) MBA or Master degree is a plus.
7+ years experience in Manufacturing and/or Development (semiconductor industry preferred).
Demonstrated track record of managing projects, such as new product launch, or new business development
Demonstrated track record of leading multi-functional teams or cross MAP communication
Work experience in a commercial function
Desired Skills:
Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent demonstrated experience in the field of semiconductor advanced packaging.
Leadership experience along with accounting/financial analysis

The range for this position is $121,205.00 - $166,657.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
