Job Description

Lead the reliable supply of Maintenance, Utilities and Facilities services associated with the manufacturing process at the Cork site. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.)

M A IN D U T IES AND R E S P ON S IB I LI T IES:

  • Manage all maintenance activities of the Cork site and ensure that maintenance and calibrations activities comply with laws and regulations of regulatory authorities and the government.

  • Ensuring Systems, Policies and Procedures are in place and up to date to assure maintenance, calibrations, utilities, and facility activitiesare carried out in compliance with ESH, GEP, cGMP and AHQS standards and regulations.

  • Managing the Maintenance of the Utilities and Facilities department to provide safe, compliant, timely and cost-effective support to the plant, including facilities and utilities equipment.

  • Participating as a proactive and significant member of the site operational Engineering management team accountable for the definition and maintenance of meaningful KPIs.

  • Anticipating and planning for future requirements in the area, including such aspects as procedural requirements, asset lifecycle management, capital planning, capability frameworks, personnel recruitment planning, compliance requirements, and efficiency developments.

  • Development and management of a strategic framework to enable a “reliability” cantered asset care strategy for the site, with the following core pillars: equipment criticality and spares assessment, predictive maintenance techniques, fit for purpose PM program, technician driven RCA program and FMEA techniques.

  • Fostering an environment of continuous improvement and providing leadership in this area by identifying and implementing efficiency, cost reduction, quality, and service level improvements.

  • Management and governance of Engineering Stores, Facilities IFM agreement and other contracts, including setting and monitoring KPIs with managed service providers.

  • Host tactical meetings with your team to ensure alignment with company and

  • production goals and objectives; (Safety, Quality, Schedule Adherence, Cost).

  • Manage all assigned personnel ensuring that they provided with clear performance expectations and progress reviewed on a regular basis while always maintaining good Industrial Relations.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for all personnel in their department with special responsibility to quickly respond to safety related requests for the department.

  • Manage cost control program for maintenance, utilities, and facilities.

  • Ensure that maintenance breakdowns are adequately, and timely addressed, corrective actions are executed as agreed and that reliability improvement actions are defined.

  • Develop and manage annual budgets for energy, services, and spare parts.

  • EHS: Responsibility for emergency procedures, safety systems, safety performance, communication, and behaviours within the department.

  • Ensure all immediate safety and compliance activities are addressed in a timely and satisfactory manner.

  • Ensuring that plant and equipment is operating in a compliant manner and that all activities are conducted to meet GMP regulations, site and corporate quality standards and any additional regulatory requirement.

  • Ensure compliance to cGMP in operations and maintenance of utility systems and calibrated assets.

  • Ensure that facilities arekepttoa high cGMP standard including housekeeping and pest control.

  • Ensure that the calibration program is maintained in a compliant manner in line with cGMP.

  • Ensure that all health, safety & environmental requirements are fulfilled in accordance with the responsibilities defined in the company safety & environmental statements.

  • Play a leadership role in health, safety and environmental issues and teams.

  • Assist and lead CAPA investigations, determining accurate root cause and implementing action plans to prevent reoccurrences.

  • Ensure all Quality TrackWise actions that are assigned to the group are actioned and closed in a satisfactory manner.

  • Ensure 5S standards are maintained and improved

  • Team Leadership: lead, motivate and manage department personal anchored by the GE Beliefs to achieve required targets. Ensure effective delegation of tasks to the technician group.

  • Responsible for developing people and technical capabilities and skills to maximise operational equipment uptime, implement new technologies and applying best practice in maintenance methods and systems.

  • Efficient delegation and effective management of department personnel and their duties

  • Negotiate change in work practices with the craft group.

  • Recruitment, training, retention & development of department engineering staff

  • Act as an integral link in the communication process (monthly/weekly/Daily briefings)

Pr in c ip al qu a li fi c at i o n s/sk i ll s a n d w o r k e xp e r i e n ce r e qui re d :

• Minimum five years in engineering, utilities, or maintenance, in Pharmaceutical or related industries similar managerial position.

• University Degree or equivalent in mechanical/electrical/process/chemical engineering.

• Strong Clean and black utilities experience.

• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build teams and operate across functional boundaries, both internal and external.
