Lecturer

College of Arts and Sciences – Psychology Department

The Department of Psychology at the University of Miami invites applications for a full-time instructor to broaden and enhance the undergraduate mission of the Department.

Preferred candidates should have a strong background in research methods and statistics. This position is expected to teach a selection of undergraduate courses in (a) research methods and biobehavioral statistics and/or (b) other introductory courses (e.g., Introduction to Psychology, Social Cognitive Psychology, Psychopathology, and / or Developmental Psychology). An ability to teach upper-level undergraduate classes (e.g., Advanced Research Methods, Diversity Issues in Psychology) would also be viewed favorably.

The teaching load is 12 credits/units in the fall and 12 credits/units in the spring. Each class meets for three hours per week. The lecturer will prepare class materials, deliver lectures in person at the University's main campus in Coral Gables, grade examinations, and provide office hours to students. Possibility for remote / online courses delivery for a subset of courses.

Appointment is expected to start on August 15, 2025. Candidates must hold a Ph.D.in Psychology or related field (clinical or non-clinical) by the appointment start date.
