The University of Miami is hiring for An Assistant Football Dietitian. This position will report directly to the Director of Football Nutrition and work within the nutrition team to educate student-athletes on appropriate nutrition for optimal health and elite athletic performance. Furthermore, this position will provide education, guidance, and expertise in health and nutrition to our student athletes.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively participate as a member of the University of Miami Sports Nutrition staff

  • Oversee the daily operations and logistics, as they relate to football

  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Football Nutrition, to oversee meal ordering and menu development

  • Conducts individual consultations with football athletes

  • Creates and provides team education talks including visual and verbal educations

  • Screens supplements for safe use due to NCAA guidelines

  • Conducts and analyses body composition testing via inbody scans

  • Work in collaboration with the Lead in football nutrition, to oversee the budget

  • Work in collaboration with the Lead in football nutrition, to procure vendors and to maintain relationships/communications with the vendors

  • Manage and supervise all aspects of operations of Nutrition Center and assigned Fueling Stations including managing student-volunteers/interns/work study, product inventory, ordering, receiving, and distribution in conjunction with the Football Nutrition Fellow

  • Maintain effective communication with coaching staff, athletic trainers, strength staff and other individuals from the Athletic Department on any nutrition related matter.

  • Serve our student-athletes with a positive, welcoming, and committed attitude

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Football Nutrition

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) Credentials

  • Florida Licensure within 45 days of hire

  • One year of experience working in intercollegiate sports nutrition

  • Effective communication (written and verbal), presentation, and computer skills

  • Ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds

  • Ability to work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in a related field

  • Experience in an intercollegiate or professional athletics program

  • Ability to lift 20-30 lbs

  • Willingness to obtain the CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics) certification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTITUDES

  • Knowledge of business and management principles.

  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

  • Ability to develop relationships with catering vendors

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.

  • Ability to display a positive attitude and work ethic

  • Continue to stay up on most recent sports related nutrition
