Suddath is seeking a highly-motivated, intelligent and caring team member who would like to be apart of our growing accounting team. The successful team member will be dynamic, goal oriented and someone who truly enjoys working in a team environment. Suddath will provide training and resources to maximize success for this individual who will be a key member of the accounting team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Audit and invoice transportation and accessorial services

  • Issue and send invoices to Customers

  • Understand and interpret client and agent contracts and rate schedules as needed

  • Analyze, distribute and process revenue

  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies with vendors and customers

  • Upload customer invoices into web portal or database

  • Communicate with operations and accounting staff regarding billing and issues

  • Create and update spreadsheets for customer billings and reconciliations

  • Assist with special projects as needed

Job Skills Required:

  • 1 to 2 years experience in billing / accounting

  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday

  • Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize workload

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and follow through

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Ability to work under deadlines and specific time frames

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and to work with minimum supervision

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or above. Some college or Associates/Bachelors Degree are preferred, but not required with applicable experience.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Operations:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and effectively use software applications such as move management, accounting/billing, HRIS, timekeeping and other applications used in the performance of job duties.

Planning/Organization:

  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday

  • Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work
