Dakota Regional Medical Center Controller/Accountant in Cooperstown, North Dakota

Overview: Controller/Accountant, reporting to the CFO, will be responsible for oversight of all finance and reporting activities including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants administration. The Controller will ensure that Dakota Regional Medical Center, Griggs County Care Center and CMC Foundation have the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with reviewing bank account reconciliations and providing technical guidance to purchasing operations, payroll administration, accounts payable and account receivable process and cash management functions.
  • Assists in recording and accurately reporting capital assets.
  • Prepares intricate journal entries and assists in reviewing routine accounting transactions.
  • Coordinate audit activity.
  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist DRMC and GCCC leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Researches and collects data to ensure accurate accounting and reporting for grant administration.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are implemented and in place to promote effective financial operations and accurate and reliable financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Must live within 300 miles of Cooperstown, ND
  • Technology savvy with knowledge of accounting and reporting software
  • Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus. simple reporting.
  • Ability to translate financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

Standard hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Controller would generally need to be available for phone calls or teams meetings - some on-site presence would likely be needed for training - but otherwise position could be a remote work setup. There are work-from-home requirements to ensure confidentiality is kept that will be reviewed at the interview.
