NLUC PLLC Medical Assistant in Conroe, Texas

The MA is responsible for the care of patients and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Physician/Medical Provider.

* General Accountabilities:*

  • Medical assistants are responsible for efficiently assisting the Medical Providers by performing a range of administrative and clinical tasks, including:

``` - Completing check in processes including collecting patient balances. - Prepare patient care rooms for examination. - Measure vital signs, and record information on chart/EMR. - Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, pulse ox, peak flow and or spirometry, inhalation treatment equipment and blood draws. - Perform, collect and label CLIA-waived lab tests for send out. - Perform both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug and alcohol tests. - Remove sutures/staples and change sterile and non-sterile dressings.

Responsible for patient centered communication including:

  • Discussing patient balances.
  • Explaining the procedure and treatments that will be performed.
  • Immediate service recovery for patients that are not satisfied.

Other Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant Include:

  • Clean and sterilize both instruments and equipment after use.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate level of supplies and instruments for use by the facility.
  • Demonstrates the safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.
  • Demonstrates the importance of continuing education to the performance of responsibilities and growth in profession.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement and Mandatory education/training programs.

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Some medical experience.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Ability to work all shifts including day, night, and weekend hours as needed.
  • Basic computer skills; including familiarity with electronic medical records.
  • Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Environmental and Physical Requirements:

Candidate must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, have cognitive skills for math, reading, filing and sterile technique skills.
