Standard Power Data Center Specialist (2nd and 3rd shifts) in Conesville, Ohio

We are looking for a Data Center Specialist to support our data centers by monitoring critical systems, documenting events, and providing troubleshooting and remediation of technical issues to ensure optimum uptime and adherence to SLAs. This is a full time, non-exempt, on-site position located in our Conesville, Ohio site. This is a permanent 2nd shift or 3rd shift position.

Schedule: 7-hour shift (Pay for 8 hours)

  • 12:30 AM to 7:30 AM
  • 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Basic and intermediate IT administration skills; provide 1st & 2nd level support to assist in the diagnosis and resolution of technical/equipment incidents.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain documentation for use in problem analysis and resolution (includes RCAs and follow-up).
  • Collaborate and communicate support incidents with IT and operation teams for a variety of software, networking, and facility infrastructure to ensure the efficiency of data center operations.
  • Maintain records of all system administration operations and presents reports to superiors.
  • Perform administrative, wiring, equipment deployment, software updates, patches, access controls, and other activities as directed.
  • Support Data Center physical security, disaster recovery procedures, and facility support activities in the ongoing operations of the facility.
  • Support accrediting data centers for standards and audit compliance.

Required Skills:

  • HS Diploma or GED, trade school certification, other certified training in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least one year of related experience in a complex, high availability data center environment.
  • A strong working knowledge of data center processes and design (power, cooling, redundancy).
  • Hands on expertise of IT systems in data center environments -- WAN/LAN/VLANs, Cisco Switches, Sonicwall Firewalls, MS Servers, Hyper-V.
  • Ability to document complex problem resolution summaries and repetitive tasks interfaces through online ticketing system.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective team and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
  • Experience with Data Center incident resolution, asset management, and logistics.
  • Critical thinking and decision making related to outage risk assessment.
  • Strong cable management skills and experience managing fiber & copper in a data center environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Certificate in A+, Server+, or Network+ is a plus.
  • Experience in technical writing and documentation skills are preferred.
  • Willing to work on weekends and holidays as needed.
