We are seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee and optimize our inventory management processes within our paper manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SAP, with a strong understanding of inventory control and supply chain principles specific to the manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage stock levels of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to ensure optimal inventory levels.
Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures to reduce waste and minimize costs.
Utilize SAP (MM module) to track inventory transactions, manage material movements, and generate inventory reports.
Ensure data integrity in SAP by conducting regular audits and reconciliations.
Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and proper inventory allocation for sales orders.
Manage the inventory aspects of production planning, ensuring alignment with production schedules.
Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain accurate inventory records.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and SAP records.
Analyze usage trends to forecast future inventory needs and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
Prepare and present inventory performance reports to management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations regarding inventory storage and handling.
Maintain accurate documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
Provide training and support to staff on SAP inventory processes and best practices.
Lead and mentor a team of inventory personnel to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in inventory management, preferably in the manufacturing sector (paper industry experience is a plus).
Strong proficiency in SAP, specifically in Material Management (MM) and related modules.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
Proven ability to solve problems and make data-driven decisions.
Travel
This position may require occasional travel to supplier sites, production facilities, or corporate offices. Candidates should be prepared to travel up to 30% of the time, which may include overnight stays. Travel will be primarily for the purposes of inventory audits, supplier assessments, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
