The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Right-of-Way, has a full-time vacancy for a Survey Team Technician III.

Summary: To assist the party chief by operating survey instruments to gather data and to perform technical surveying duties for a variety of surveying projects.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in an engineering or forestry curriculum. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one (1) year of required work experience.

Experience: Three (3) years of progressively increasing responsibility and experience in a survey or construction environment, two (2) years of which shall have been in a survey environment or in performing surveys. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one (1) year of required formal education.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:Valid driver's license. The applicants Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All accountabilities must be performed in accordance with State and Department rules and policies, including risk management, safety and environmental standards, regulations and administrative orders

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the party chief in making preliminary location surveys and construction stakeouts.

Performs survey work, including the running of proposed centerline from aerial photographs.

Operates surveying instruments to measure distance and elevation; checks all field measurements and computations for accuracy.

Adjusts and maintains surveying instruments as necessary.

Prepares and checks survey data in plans to be used for highway projects.

Operates computerized equipment to calculate and to retrieve mathematical data for analysis.

Performs site reviews to ascertain that plans accurately depict field conditions.
