Oracle Senior Member of Technical Staff (Debian) in Concord, New Hampshire

Job Description

Do you have a passion for designing and developing new frameworks/cloud services and working with Oracle's most critical customers? As a Linux OS expert in our team, you will work with a team of engineers responsible for building a new cloud service to improve collaboration among different development and operations teams. You should be a highly self-motivated individual in the team that builds and evolves this service over time with new capabilities and optimizations. A deep level of understanding will be needed across the board as this service will touch many areas ranging from hardware, OS, cloud, and security. The ideal candidate will have:

· Technical experience with Linux OS and security features, distributed systems, and CI/CD pipelines at a detailed level while understanding high-level design

· Good collaboration with different teams that come from different backgrounds

· Clear and concise communication

· Strong troubleshooting skills and a curiosity to dig deep and quickly understand new issues

As a member of our global team, you will:

· Design architectures and create new services that operate reliably at an extremely large scale

· Implement capabilities and features ranging from OS level config changes, OS agents, and deployment pipelines

· Technically strong and productive; someone who knows how to balance speed and quality with iterative and incremental improvements.

· Understand operational excellence and know-how to infuse a culture of being proactive within your team.

· Recommend and justify major changes to new and existing products and establish consensus with data-driven approaches.

Qualifications

· BS degree in CS, EE, or equivalent

· 7 years of industry experience developing code at the Linux OS level (agents, plugins, daemons)

· Experience with Linux distros preferably Debian, open source, GitHub, deployment pipeline, terraform, ansible

· Experience in Linux security and compliance

· Experience in building/packaging software components.

· Languages: Proficiency in any of Python, Go, C, Java, bash

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, honest and open communication

· Handle hard problems with a positive "can do" attitude

· Team player able to work with others at all skill levels, and able to go beyond when needed

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
