Rural Resources Community Action Victim Advoate in Colville, Washington

Rural Resources Community Action is looking for a Victim Advocate. This position is full- time (40 hours per week) with benefits and located at our Colville, WA office. As a Victim Advocate, you will provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management services for general crime victims and/or victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or child abuse and neglect. This individual will complete initial eligibility and lethality assessments, develop safety plans and work with clients to understand and work towards client's desired outcomes; provides on-going support, resources, and case management as requested. A Victim Advocate advocates for the clients and provides legal rights and responsibilities information relative to legal proceedings. While providing support, advocacy, and coordination with other social services for clients.

A Victim Advocate will need knowledge of the impact of crimes on victims, including but not limited to dynamics of domestic violence, sexual abuse/assault, and/or child abuse, crisis intervention and advocacy principles and practices, criminal and civil judicial procedures in both Superior and District Courts. The qualities we are looking for include the ability to work flexible hours, establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, agency staff, community officials and the general public, maintain client confidentiality, analyze and evaluate client needs; provide robust, compassionate, flexible response to changing situation and barriers.

To apply for this position, you would need a Bachelor's degree in related area of study; two years' experience working in a social service agency, one of which must be in crisis intervention and advocacy counseling of victims or any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job.

  • Valid driver's license in state of residence.
  • Auto insurance in the amount required by the State of Washington.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Acceptable completion of a criminal history background check.

Salary & Benefit Information

The hiring range for this role is $21.65-$23.42 per hour. The full salary range of $21.65-$36.06 per hour represents the low and high end of the total salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience & qualifications. As a full or part-time employee, after the successful completion of our six-month training period you may receive a 4% step increase and an additional 4% step increase on your annual anniversary thereafter (excludes temporary employees). Depending on full time or part time status, other benefits may include medical (three plan options), dental and vision insurance, vacation, a 403(B) and/or Roth IRA retirement savings plan with a company match of up to 6%, $12,000 life insurance policy (while employed with RRCA), Employee Assistance Program and other auxiliary insurance options.  All employees, regardless of temporary, part-time or full-time status will receive sick leave.
