WORK LOCATION:  Stevens County Information Services Department, Colville, WA

 

WORK SCHEDULE:  This position is subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible. The typical workweek is 40 hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Job Description Billing Specialist II

SUMMARY

Works closely with Applications Administrator and County departments. Provides business office clerical assistance by performing the following duties.

  • Individuals assigned to this classification are expected to perform independently a wide diversity of complex work activities under infrequent supervision, typically in the form of providing and directing procedures and computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
  • Assist the Applications Administrator and IS Director in yearly budgeting for purchase of new equipment/replacements for departments.
  • Maintain yearly software and hardware contract renewals.
  • Ability to provide minimal user support for county supported software systems.
  • Perform all of the functions of a Billing Specialist I.

     

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Four year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training.
  • Demonstrated multidisciplinary communication skills across all levels of an organization, but particularly with business-unit executives.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the applicant and the County with the necessary attributes for this position will be considered.

     

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS for Billing Specialist II (grade 6)

  • Meet the minimum education and experience requirements.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license.
  • Criminal history backgrounds check results are a condition of employment. Records will be considered based on the requirements of RCW 9.96A.020, WAC 162-12 and WAC 446-20.

     

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS for Billing Specialist II (grade 7)

  • Meets required qualifications of Billing Specialist II Grade 6
  • Served a minimum of two years as a Billing Specialist II Grade 6
  • Complete a minimum of five (5) job related skills training within the past three (3) years.
  • Be recommended for advancement by the Director, Information Services Dept
