Nexstar Media Group Sales Assistant in Columbus, Ohio
WCMH (NBC) in Columbus, OH is looking for a Sales Assistant. The Sales Assistant works within established Sales Department guidelines to maximize station revenue opportunities from an order entry, traffic and accounting perspective. The Sales assistant is also responsible for performing all clerical functions required by department personnel as needed.
Performs all clerical functions for the Sales Department
Maintains awareness of the most current traffic policies, practices and procedures
Enters order, traffic and accounting data using computers, and other resources
Corresponds with customers and confers with coworkers to answer inquiries and resolve account problems
Prepares forms and reports
Maintains files and other business records
Performs other duties as assigned
Receive, interpret and input highly detailed commercial copy based on agency instructions, flight dates, rotations and multiple revisions within deadlines
Work with sales and sales assistants (both internally and on the agency side) regarding commercials and copy rotations
Maintain good working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts to provide excellent customer service
Maintain commercial copy instructions/files
Handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and independently
Cross train and serve as back up to team members as needed
Adhere to Company policy and applicable federal, state and local legislation to appropriately schedule commercial copy rotation
Maintain accurate data entry and record keeping and invoicing
Requirements & Skills:
High School diploma
Fluency in English
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Minimum one year’s experience in clerical support or administrative assistance, preferably in the sales or media fields
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment
Time management skills necessary to multitask order entry and creating presentations in a timely manner
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, Excel spreadsheets
Ability to assess needs of clients/team members in order to meet the needs of the business
Problem-solving and deductive reasoning is required to accomplish tasks
Clear and concise communications both through writing & presentation skills
Effective use of time is very important in this position
Excellent customer service skill
Ability to learn systems & terminology in the broadcast and digital world
Attitude is key to being an asset to the company, a willingness to learn the business
