JPMorgan Chase Operations Analyst II in Columbus, Ohio

Coordinates internally with all affected lines of business on all aspects of the acquisition using tools to promote visibility and awareness to assigned deals. Coordinates externally with selling counterparties, prior servicers and additional representatives involved in an acquisition. Position will problem solve and ensure all requirements, both internally and regulatory, are met and accomplished to purchase mortgage rights. Position will gather, compile and review information and data, evaluating existing systems and procedures, identifying alternative courses of actions, developing tools and/or improvements.

Position will lead calls both internally and externally tracking milestones and deliverables on assigned deals. Communicate status to management and stakeholders as necessary through summary reports, review decks, project plans, agendas, minutes, issue / risk tracking, etc.

  • Capability to review and translate 3rd party information to validate and ensure business requirements are met

  • Competent organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Understands end to end business processes to fully provide vision needed for the department to perform tasks

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance):

  • Single point of contact for entire process related to bulk acquisition of loans from 3rd party sellers based on an executed Purchase and Sale agreement

  • Manage day-to-day task level checklist of position required milestones

  • Manage deal level milestones associated with internal partners requirements for successful on-boarding of purchased loans

  • Interact with external and internal partners on the phone and through e-mail, being concise and clear with direction and requests

  • Problem solve issues based on information received from 3rd party sellers. Review and translate when needed into Chase nomenclature to suppress confusion

  • Constantly assess and define areas of improvement and work to solution gaps and/or smooth edges

  • SME of all activities related to acquisition of loans, regulatory and internally, as well as manage relationship with counterparties. Understanding at a deal level data points, document structure and any inconsistency in normal acquisition protocol.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 3 years of related experience in mortgage banking

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong preparation skills

  • Strong phone presence, ability to be personable and direct

  • Working knowledge of mortgage lending systems

  • Experience with process improvement & problem solving

Proficiency with office products such as Word and Excel, Access and business presentation tools such as Power Point
