IGM Validation Specialist Requisition ID 2024-48805 Category Research Overview Works with the section director(s), technical director, research, and development scientist(s) to design experiments for laboratory developed assays, conduct research and development, and develop protocols to verify/validate and implement new clinical assays. Assists in implementing testing including quality control, proficiency testing, reference ranges, etc. Prepares technical materials such as abstracts, scientific papers, and presentations. Responsibilities Understands and demonstrates Nationwide Children's Hospital Staff Core Competencies Demonstrates self-management skills. Develops, verifies, writes reviews and/or updates procedures as necessary. Assists and/or oversees in the development and/or implementation of new tests, procedures, or instrumentation within the Institute for Genomic Medicine. Displays the discipline-specific technical and computer skills required for the appropriate section of the laboratory. Follows the established guidelines within the department for safety, PPE, SOP (standard operating procedures), material labeling and problem /solution documentation. Displays a positive attitude and supports the goals and policies of the department / institution. Demonstrates the ability to present information, whether oral or written, in a clear, concise, and effective manner to coworkers and management. Takes the initiative and demonstrates the ability within the department to solve problems effectively and in a timely manner. Exhibits initiative and the ability to provide feedback that is useful and assists in individual improvement. Promotes a cohesive work environment and identifies resolutions to improve morale. Qualifications Education Requirement: Master's degree in science in an appropriate filed or in medical.
