Job Summary

We are seeking a positive, adaptable and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern for Summer & Fall 2025 . Battelle's Columbus-based Human Resources team provides consultative support to management and employees on strategic and routine human resources scenarios nationwide. Due to the wide range of assigned tasks, all members of this group have extensive exposure to and interaction with Battelle leadership and employees at all levels of the organization - and must therefore be equipped with appropriate collaboration and communications skills to adapt accordingly. This internship opportunity will include various rotations within the HR team, including support of Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience , HRIS and Talent Strategy & Enablement/Talent Programs & Compensation.

The intern will remain in a part-time capacity during the school year. This position is full-time onsite/hybrid in Columbus, OH during the summer, but can be part-time (approximately 20 hours/week) in the fall semester.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the requisition process: posts open positions to appropriate job boards, sources resumes and qualified candidates, conducts pre-screening phone interviews and facilitates candidate feedback process, conducts on-site interviews with hiring manager, assists with selection process, and processes offer to the selected candidate

  • Partnering with the Battelle Intern and Co-Op program lead in support of the coordination and administration of the program, and participates in career events as a Battelle representative as needed

  • Working as part of a team to provide talent acquisition support to the organization. Interprets, assists and advises employees and managers on routine talent acquisition process and policies

  • Assisting the Talent Strategy & Enablement team during the Compensation Planning season (fall) by reviewing and compiling data and conducting quality reviews

  • Conducting research regarding emerging trends in the talent landscape and preparing related summaries

  • Creating and updating spreadsheets and PowerPoint decks in support of assigned projects

  • Maintaining a high level of integrity and discretion in the handling of confidential information

  • Providing support for the implementation and communication of various HR programs and initiatives

  • Brainstorming ideas and participating in activities to strengthen the HR team. Researching and summarizing best practices

  • Support HR Lifecycle activities

Key Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related major.

  • Must have at least two years of college experience at the start of the internship.

  • Experience through coursework or practical experience with analysis (i.e. contracts, data, etc.).

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship experience within an HR function
