What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain IT solutions and services support for the corporate HR business functional teams

  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces – specifically with experience, acumen and success with Workday & Kronos software & solutions

  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.

  • Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.

  • Problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.

  • Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.

  • Knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents.

  • Ability to define work processes and lead team members in successful implementation and ongoing execution

  • Passion for continuous improvement and finding ways to improve the employee experience.

  • Ability to flex communication styles to effectively partner with both IT and non-technical professionals.

  • Demonstrates flexibility to pivot priorities based on HR needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience

  • 8-12 years of experience supporting HR Technology

  • Experience with UKG Dimensions (Kronos) Time Tracking and Workday Time Tracking preferred

  • Experience with ServiceNow (SN) – HR Portal, Employee Center Pro and Service Center support

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite and advanced skills with Excel (Pivot tables & charts)

  • Experience with Labor Management Systems (Manhattan) and related, timekeeping integrations

  • Cross-functional team collaboration, leading through influence & excellent communication skills

  • Prior experience with managed service provider and prior supervisory experience preferred

Anticipated salary range : $121,600 - $182,385
