High School English Teacher

Description: 

The Graham School is looking for a High School English Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year.  The Graham School has a particular mission to urban students in Central Ohio preparing them for lifelong learning and informed citizenship through real-world experiences and rigorous academics. Fostering ownership and responsibility for their education prepares our students to be successful in college, the workplace, and other endeavors they undertake upon leaving The Graham School.

The classroom teacher is responsible for the education of each student in his or her class, and is responsible for working with students, parents, and other teachers and staff towards achieving the mission and goals of The Graham School.

Position Overview:

As a graduation requirement, English courses prepare students for grade level literacy, critical reading and writing, engaging and creative work creation.   

Responsible for teaching a full course load (three blocked periods with one prep period daily) of English courses.  

Develops syllabus, grading expectations, course sequence, title and all course details in conjunction with the building leadership, department and counseling team.

Develops a caring and nurturing classroom environment where all students can contribute to the community, learn, express questions/concerns/thoughts, and deepen their growth as a life-long learner. 

Follow building guidance regarding parental communication, classroom management norms, and PBIS expectations.

With the building leadership and grade level teams, write, implement, and evaluate Crew lessons.  Develop your Crew class culture such that the school's mission, vision and core values are reflected.
