High School Art Teacher (9-12)

School Overview: 

The Charles School at Ohio Dominican University, TCS @ ODU  is looking for a High School Art Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year.  TCS has a particular mission to urban students in Central Ohio preparing them for college and career opportunities towards lifelong learning and informed citizenship. Fostering ownership and responsibility for their education prepares our students to be successful in college, the workplace, and other endeavors they undertake upon graduation.

Position Overview: Art Teacher

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates creative artistic experiences, projects, and lessons for high school students.  Preferred medium is visual arts.  School has numerous materials suitable for drawing, painting, murals, etc. with the ability to grow into digital art platforms.  
  • With the building leadership and grade level teams, write, implement, and evaluate Crew lessons.  Develop Crew class culture such that the school's mission, vision and core values are reflected.   
  • Develops a caring and nurturing classroom environment where all students can contribute to the community, learn, express questions/concerns/thoughts, and deepen their growth as a life-long learner. 
  • Follow building guidance regarding parental communication, classroom management norms, and PBIS expectations.
  • Staff members often have additional responsibilities and duties to help the school function safely and effectively.  This is at the discretion of the building leadership team and is fairly shared across the instructional team.
  • Staff members will utilize many digital platforms to further their work, communicate with stakeholders, inform students of grades, etc.
