Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Facilities Engineering Intern for Summer Semester 2025 . This position is full-time hybrid (approximately 80% onsite; 20% remote) located in Columbus, Ohio .
The Facilities Engineering Intern will support Battelle's Facilities Planning, Engineering, and Design group. This team is embarking on a complex facilities renovation program that will span nearly a decade. The King Avenue multi-year plan will be designed with a focus on the employee experience, offering an environment that enables the many types of work conducted on the campus and helping employees be at their best. Battelle’s Facilities Planning, Engineering, and Design group specializes in managing Facilities construction projects for Battelle's Central Ohio locations. Additional support of the Facilities Operations and Maintenance group may be necessary.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering support to Facilities project managers for ongoing projects both in design and construction. Projects likely to include, but not limited to, interior lab modifications, fire protection improvements, and mechanical system upgrades.
Assist with coordinating efforts of design engineers and architects.
Assist with internal construction management coordination and documentation.
Assist with coordination to include members and groups from Applied Science & Technology.
Some local travel will be required 20% of time.
Key Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, Construction or Mechanical Engineering
Must have at least two years of college experience by the start of the internship.
Familiarity with reading engineering drawings.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and eagerness to take on technical challenges.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Related work experience (paid or unpaid) is preferred.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit software program(s) is preferred.
