Baylor Scott & White Health Director Healthcare Economics & Trend Analytics in Columbus, Ohio
Position Overview:
Reporting to the VP, Value-based Care Analytics, he Director of Healthcare Economics and Trend Analytics will support the Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance Commercial, DTE, and Medicare (MSSP ACO, Medicare Advantage) lines of business, and similar lines of business within the Baylor Scott and White Health Plan.
This position will manage teams that extract, analyze, and interpret adjudicated claims data to uncover trends and assist in managing and understanding incurred medical and pharmacy cost.
The Director will design, develop, and support the creation of core analytics products, management presentations, advanced analytics, deep-dive analysis, and support the interpretation and consultation of population insights.
They will identify areas for cost improvement, alternative pricing strategies, and network models to drive contractual performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in both payor and provider organization supporting similar lines of business.
Essential Functions:
Present analytical results internally and externally for all lines of business outlined.
Act as a Company thought leader and functional SME on claims data and value-based care.
Execute and develop strategies that impact the businesses approach to population health and contract performance
Understand and develop pioneering approaches (advanced analytics) to emerging industry trends
Bring innovative ideas and solutions to business problems
Remain curious, passionate about learning, and a proactive problem solver
Act as product owner for multiple analytics products and solutions, working with stakeholders to define product roadmaps that reflect the priorities and focus needed to move the needle on key lagging and leading measures
Work with colleagues, BSWH leadership, and contracted vendors to enable value creation and business impact along with engaging with stakeholders to ensure adoption of analytic products and solutions.
Coach and teach others key analytics tools, best practices, and story development, as well as to operate at the top of their license through 1-1s, feedback and professional development.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Advanced degree (Masters, PhD.)
Advanced analytic skills (Phython, R, etc)
Experience in large insurance companies and highly matrixed organizations
Knowledgeable of Snowflake and Milliman MedInsight analytical suites.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification; Master's preferred
5 years of experience
