Job Summary

Responsible for directing critical accounting projects across the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) organization. Projects will be agreed annually with the CAO but may include finance transformation, operating model and effectiveness, technical accounting matters, controls matters and other ad hoc initiatives as they arise.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for leading critical projects in the CAO organization

  • Ensure associated change and stakeholder management is well executed

  • Engage with external and internal stakeholders as appropriate to identify best practices

  • Bring technical accounting, controls, IT and operational accounting considerations and stakeholders together on key projects

  • Identify opportunities for new value-add initiatives

  • Manage CAO organizational cadence

  • Foster employee development and growth through goal-setting, training and cultural initiatives

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined management team on emerging issues

  • Develop and cultivate positive business relationships between Accounting and other AEP business partners

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business/Finance or Accounting.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years post-grad experience in finance/business or accounting workforce.

  • Experience should include development and execution of organizational strategy.

  • CPA certification preferred.

  • Public accounting experience and/or experience with the client-side of an audit.

  • Familiarity with latest technologies.

  • Experience prioritizing and deploying process improvements using latest technologies.

  • Experience with establishing and executing data analytics.

  • Experience leading large cross-functional projects

  • Detail-oriented with an ability to employ a logical approach to accomplish objectives and solve issues.

  • PeopleSoft experience preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing circumstances and requirements.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and possess excellent time management and organization skills.

  • Experience utilizing time management and organization skills.

Compensation Range:

$152,707.00-198,520.00 USD
