Who we are looking for:
Data Migration Specialist - We are currently hiring a Data Migration Specialist to join our Client Services department. The purpose of this role is to ensure a successful onboarding for new clients as they transition from previous solutions to the Hapana business application suite. This is the most important phase of the customer lifecycle, and the Data Migration Specialist is responsible for establishing the solid foundation that drives customers' future successes. Data Migration Specialist work in conjunction with the Chief Client Officer, Support Specialists and Account Managers, and oversee the data conversion of the onboarding process. The role is a blend of customer-facing communication and focused project management tasks.
You will use a variety of tools including Jira (project management), your editor of choice (e.g. VSCode, JetBrains Rider, Vim), your database toolbox (SSMS, Azure Data Studio, etc.), and other supporting tools. We expect that you will also have some experience and recommendations for what you may find useful to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities:
Meet with clients or management to understand data migration requirements and needs
Strategize and plan an entire project, including moving the data and converting content as necessary, while considering risks and potential impacts
Audit existing data systems and deployments and identify errors or areas for improvement
Cleanse or translate data so that it can be effectively moved between systems, apps, or software
Oversee the direct migration of data, which may require minor adjustments
Test the new system after the migration process as well as the resulting data to find errors and/or points of corruption
Document everything from the strategies used to the exact migration processes put in place—including documenting any fixes or adjustments made
Develop migration scripts and propose data migration best practices for all current and future projects
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines for all migrated data
Skills and Knowledge:
BA/BS/BE degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
Strong attention to detail in order to evaluate data for accuracy and errors
The ability to problem-solve under pressure and in complex situations
A methodical and logical approach to planning and organization
The ability to clearly communicate with team members
Excellent time management skills and a goal-oriented personality
A strong understanding of data protection and data governance
A commitment to growth and an interest in professional development as the IT industry grows
A thorough understanding of database systems and software
Expert knowledge with Microsoft Excel and knowledge of VBA
Experience with mySQL, Python, Looker ML preferred
