Trinity Health Coding Auditing Supervisor- Mount Carmel Corporate Service Center in Columbus, Ohio

Description:

Coding and Auditing Supervisor assist with analyzing data, identifying and implementing process improvement methods related to Coding Compliance. Conducts regular reviews of Provider Based Facility and Professional documentation, charging, CPT and diagnosis coding. Provides training regarding audit findings to ensure compliance with Federal, State and payer documentation and coding regulations. Coordinates and performs applicable follow up audits education to physicians and staff.

• Publishes and presents continuing updates and reminders on proper documentation, coding and billing procedures and guidelines.

• Mentor and train all CPCs and other coding/billing staff in the Network, including classroom education.

• Assists with special projects related to medical coding on an as needed basis especially as it applies to one-on-one education

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate schedules based on network need.

  • Reacts in a timely manner to resolve complaints and/or employee conflict, promoting customer service.

  • Works with leadership to ensure financial and operational goals are met.

  • Participates in seminars and continuing education activities pertinent to areas of job responsibility maintaining a skill level that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED required

  • Certification in Procedural Coding with a comprehensive knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 coding and CMS regulations required

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in coding and auditing/documentation review

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Thorough working knowledge of Federal, State and payer regulations
