The Position:
This Executive Director - Business Transformation will be part of CCB Data & Analytics Team, reporting directly to the Managing Director of Data & Analytics for Small Business. Small Business D&A provides analytical data, data sciences/analytics, business intelligence, and visualization support to drive Small Business acquisition, sales, marketing, and retention strategies.
Job Description:
This role is leading the Data & Analytics transformation and governance needs of analytical and data strategies throughout Chase for Business. The successful candidate will be analytically/technically strong, and will have deep customer and product analytics expertise at a leading financial services firm, preferably serving the small business banking or commercial banking segments. The candidate will be expected to partner across our CCB, CB and CIB Data & Analytics Teams, cross-LOB Stakeholders, and Partners. This candidate will need to also manage the implementation for Chase for Business of new products, services and partners into our data and analytics ecosystem.
This individual will interface directly with senior executives throughout the business as clients and collaborators, as well as with the Data & Analytics teams across the organization to
Manage our Small Business D&A business transformation programs:
Identify, prioritize, develop and coordinate the migration of existing data needs to the Big data Hadoop Data Lake
Align with data owners and department managers, contribute to the development of data models and architecture for analytics
Analyze, consolidate and establish the reporting automation roadmap towards Tableau dashboards
Define, develop and establish Modeling Team roadmap and implementation planning for our Modeling, Machine Learning & AI Ecosystems
Own and manage our Finance data transformation roadmap originating from our taskforce (SWAT)
Program Management for Integrated Wholesale and Retail Analytics Prospecting Data Universe and Data Sharing.
Identify, prioritize, develop and coordinate the migration of business operated processes into technology operations.
Own Access Management, Data Risk and Data Use for Legacy and Next-Gen Data Ecosystems for the Analytics team
Manage our Small Business Decision Sciences book of work, resource allocations, and Business Unit Review process, and partner closely with the Leadership Team on these deliverables.
This person should have a passion for data and analytics, and how this information can be used for better planning and decision making.
Qualifications:
Professional experience at a leading technology, fintech, and/or innovation-focused firm, with a proven track record of delivering data and analytical solutions, insights, and data visualizations to support the entire business services/product life-cycle.
BA, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field preferred: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computing and Information Theory, Econometrics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, or Industrial / Electrical Engineering.
10+ years of producing and overseeing advanced analytics work and overseeing large data management implementations.
8+ years people management experience, particularly in the advanced analytics space
Demonstrates highly proficient skills in each of the following areas: quantitative, analytics, and technical skills
Knowledge of tagging of Elemental data to ensure that systems can control and certify the access and use of data by Analysts - Access Control Management
Experience harmonization Roles to provides Analysts access only to the data they need - Role Based Access Control
Strong knowledge of Business/Commercial Banking products and services, including deposits, lending, cash management, credit cards and merchant services
Financial Service industry experience desired, but we are open to evaluating candidates with strong analytics backgrounds from other industries
Strong grasp of new technologies, competitive landscapes, marketplace, and regulatory environment
Proficient in identifying, buying, testing and deploying new data types that can drive insights (from other LOBs as well as vendors)
Comfortable creating and presenting recommendations to senior management and capable of influencing multiple stakeholders
Consulting orientation ability to influence both internal & external business partners
Offshore team management experience is also a plus
Analytical/Technical Requirements:
Experience in Big Data platforms such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Apache Spark etc.
Experience in relational databases including proficiency in SQL and/or Teradata
Experience with dynamic and interactive reporting/visualization applications such as Tableau
Proficient in standard data mining and analytical methods
Strong analytics, interpretive and problem solving skills
Excellent understanding of experimental design, A/B and multivariate testing
Experience with customer-centric design, marketing processes or consumer behavior modeling
Technical understanding of data extraction, transformation and load processing
Strong written and oral presentation / communication skills - the ability to convey complex information simply and clearly to senior business leaders
