Fire Lieutenant Airport - Columbus, OH IMMEDIATELY HIRING! AIRPORT FIRE LIEUTENANT FULL-TIME Opportunity $18.14 per hour We are hiring an Airport Fire Lieutenant with a passion for firefighting and patient care combined with the drive to succeed and deliver high-quality care. Job Summary: Under direction of the Captain or above, the Fire Lieutenant provides leadership and acts as a working supervisor to Firefighters. Oversees fire company activities including fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous material incidents, fire prevention, public education and the daily operation and maintenance of a fire station. MinimumRequired Qualifications: Must meet all qualifications of Lead Firefighter and Step-Up Lieutenant NFPA Successful completion of I-300 or equivalent Successful completion of Lieutenant promotional assessment Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required depending on assignment Must meet physical fitness standards as set by Rural/Metro Fire Department Must meet insurability requirements of Rural/Metro Fire Department Must have an acceptable drug screen and background check. Responsibilities: Responds to emergency medical scenes, fire incidents and other related emergency requests and may be required to perform all fire suppression activities and operate all equipment as required of a Firefighter. Directs and coordinates emergency scene activity unless and until relieved of command by a supervisor. Acts as a working supervisor and performs the work of Firefighter, as necessary. Supervises and assists in rendering first aid at an emergency medical incident. Coordinates the laying of hose lines and the placement of ladders; directs pressure and use of water streams and directs ventilation procedures, salvage operations and overhaul activities. Directs the continuous maintenance of quarters, equipment, and apparatus at a fire station according to department standards. Complete all required reports in a timely manner, including pre-hospital care reports, fire reports and reports concerning the use and condition of apparatus, related equipment, and supplies. Instructs and drills employees in firefighting, emergency medical service techniques and other areas to ensure minimum company standards are maintained. Participates in budget preparation; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; submits justifications for needed equipment; monitors and controls expenditures. Monitors employee performance; facilitate employee performance reviews; provides assistance to personnel under stress due to incidents; provides company training; works with employees to correct deficiencies; recommends disciplinary procedures. Identifies the fire training needs of company personnel including such areas as driving and operating equipment; ensures that necessary training is provided. Supervises drills and classes including those relating to the use of tools and techniques of firefighting, first aid, rescuing, street location and hydraulics. Conducts fire prevention inspections and educates the public in fire prevention. Assists other management staff in maintaining and improving the operation of the Department. Why Choose Rural Metro?
