Description POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Plant Controller, MRO Buyer or designate is responsible for all purchasing functions at Production Products. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Authorized to perform all purchasing functions at Production Products as directed. Determines the source of new supplies. Quotes all items and determines the best value. Supervises the crib attendants. Trains & instructs in the proper inventory, stocking, placement, controlled access and ordering of stock parts. Evaluates and determines stock items and quantities in crib Expedite all orders. Has authority to negotiate payment terms, price, and freight. Maintain the inventory data base. Issue and regulate all new part numbers and supplies. Input this into the data base at Production Products. Establish and maintain favorable relationship with vendors. Log purchase orders. Maintain purchasing record for all vendors. Review and approve daily receipts. Investigate unusual supply demands. Properly manages Material Data Safety Sheets, maintains proper chemical labeling going Pthrough the crib, and manages storage of recycled universal waste (excluding liquids). Paperwork, logs and manifests associated with special waste. (EMS) Performs other essential functions as assigned. Requirements JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Training and experience: Prefer Bachelors degree or the equivalent experience. SPECIAL SKILLS: Must be able to negotiate contract for the purchase of goods and services. MAJOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and exert up to 25 pounds of pressure on occasion. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. This includes working under moderate noise levels.
