Job Summary:

Engineering Support To Operations (ESTO) is seeking a proactive, goal oriented, detail focused project manager who can also serve as the location’s deputy manager for a team of engineers located in Columbus, Georgia. This position requires onsite support. In this role you will develop and lead a team of project engineers supporting delivery and producibility of commercial compressor rotating and static hardware. You will work directly with the site manager Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT) and the Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) organizations along with quality and manufacturing engineering teams based at Columbus Forge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure engineering team is fully engaged, ensuring delivery and producibility metrics are met and part and technical issues are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Provide technical leadership and planning, and collaborate across ESTO sites

  • Provide budget and strategic planning and integrate ESTO budget and manpower requirements within ESTO and the CIPT

  • Integrate with Quality, Operations, Suppliers and the CIPT to ensure technical requirements are met

  • Provide coaching and mentoring for the project discipline in Columbus

  • Prioritizing work and resources to ensure critical needs are addressed

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • 10+ years of Engineering experience, or 7+ years with an advanced degree.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

    Travel : Less than 10% travel

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency with MS Office, Team Center and SAP

  • Experience in the design, development, and support of Compression Systems Hardware.

  • Prior leadership experience and participation in process improvement efforts helpful

  • Proven ability to lead a multitude of cross-functional teams to achieve results.

  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills with ability to build effective working relationships.

  • Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

This requisition is eligible for an employee referral award. ALL eligibility requirements must be met to receive the referral award.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
