The Ritedose Corporation Product Formulation Engineering Technician in Columbia, South Carolina
The Product Formulation Maintenance Engineering Technician develops, maintains and monitors the equipment and maintenance standards for Manufacturing Operations department. Equipment productivity is analyzed and reported against performance standards. The Maintenance Engineer serves as a primary Subject Matter Expert for the department Overall Equipment Effectiveness. The Maintenance Engineer provides project management and advanced technical support to the plant maintenance technicians as needed. The Maintenance Engineer will be on call as required to support 24-hour operations. This position will also be expected to act as point of contact related to equipment and process improvements for the Filling Operations Department.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct investigations into equipment problems and failures to develop a plan to analyze equipment condition and minimize exposure to future occurrences.
• Evaluates existing systems and equipment and identifies improvements in operating methods, equipment design, equipment utilization, or configuration to improve compliance, productivity and/or efficiency.
• Provide supervision of the CMMS system and provide ownership of all corrective and preventive work completed on the department equipment.
• Provide project management for repairs and improvements requiring coordination of outside vendors.
• Continuously improve the Preventive Job Plans to provide increased safety, productivity, quality and delivery performance for the plant.
• Evaluate the spare part needs of current equipment as well as new equipment used throughout the department for critical part availability.
• Evaluate the current vendor cost and lead times of spare parts and supplies and recommend changes based on cost or lead time improvements while maintaining the quality requirements of those items.
• Evolve the maintenance department by implementing instructional / facility / tool / resource improvements.
• Supports capital investment analyses by providing productivity and ROI evaluations.
• Assist in other projects and technical matters as requested by management.
• Represent the Manufacturing Ops Dept during customer and FDA audits regarding maintenance performance.
• Available on-call to support 24-hour operations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 65 pounds of equipment, parts or supplies.
Ability to ascend or descend machinery using feet, legs, hands and arms up to 8 feet high.
Ability to maneuver into, around and out of machinery with limited access space.
Qualifications
• Two or Four year Engineering Degree preferred.
• Organized and able to effectively manage multiple tasks with appropriate prioritization.
• Strong analytical competence with experience troubleshooting mechanical and fluid systems.
• Pharmaceutical experience preferred.
• Fluent in use of Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with writing and following Standard Operating Procedures.
