The MRO Buyer must have a solid understanding and demonstrated ability to complete analysis of assigned categories by producing relevant metrics and generating SAP reports as well as the ability to make sound business decisions. This position is responsible for time sensitive sourcing, procuring and obtaining of all required spare parts, services, and preventative maintenance measure (approximately $2.5M annually). The Buyer will work in a collaborative team environment and is responsible for maintaining positive business relationships with both internal and external customers.

Job Description:

  • Manage SAP for maintenance functions by creating, maintaining, and modifying purchase orders as necessary

  • Manage the Purchase Order process for all materials from issue to receipt and within spending authorization. Issue stock transfer orders for materials stored at outside warehouses as needed. Track and communicate status to production personnel on a daily basis.

  • Validate discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices

  • Maintain parts inventory, Develop and sustain min/max levels, work to consolidate inventory and improve cost, assess obsolesces inventory. Maintain vendor contacts for Italian equipment and part sourcing. This equipment comprises of over 50% of Winland plant assets.

  • Create Bill of Materials for all equipment

  • Work to consolidate inventory and improve cost

  • Developed strong relationship with vendors and contractors

  • Support plant floor needs with part orders

  • Guide duties of the parts clerk

  • Maintain cycle counting and 5S in storeroom

  • Work close with planner to Kit WOs “ready to go” back log

  • Maintain budget forecasting tool.

  • Utilizes the company ERP system to run complex reports and perform analytics

  • Releases orders in a timely fashion while closely adhering to established company guidelines

  • Ensures all agreements, purchases, and initiatives comply with established department policies and procedures

  • Ensures all Purchase Requisitions have appropriate Cost Center and G/L account codes being utilized

  • Assist with Cycle Counts as necessary

  • Completes special projects as assigned

  • Maintain all department files per AIPC, Sarbanes-Oxley Buyer and department requirements.

  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary business information at all times

  • Recognize areas for Continuous Improvement strategies; recommend and implement CI strategies as assigned

  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers and foster strong, open lines of communication across all levels of the organization

  • Support accounting with various month-end reconciliations/analysis related to inventory and ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley documentation for the inventory cycle counting and inventory processes.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Understand internal demands as they relate to the purchases of goods and services for the business

  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and cost analysis.

  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing

  • Analyze complex information and perform root cause analysis

  • Effectively manage time, including the ability to prioritize, work within assigned deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively to accomplish organizational objectives

  • Manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining quality & accuracy standards

  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook on an Advanced Level

  • SAP knowledge on an intermediate to advanced level

Education:

  • An associate's degree, or equivalent, is required.

Preferred Attributes:

  • 3+years of SAP experience

  • 1+ year of Food Manufacturing Experience

  • 3+ years of Maintaining Inventory Experience

  • Mechanical skills/knowledge

Working Conditions:

  • Standing 5% of the time.

  • Lifting up to 50lbs.

  • Walking 5% of the time.

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts 5% of the time.

  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles 5% of the time.

  • Exposure to extreme conditions (internal/external, temperatures)
