Actalent QA Automation Engineer in Columbia, Maryland
DevOps Engineer- Annapolis, MD - Hybrid
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support mission-critical DoD programs. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure within classified environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with DoD systems, security compliance, and modern DevOps practices. This role requires candidates to be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Required Qualifications:
Eligible for TS/SCI clearance
Current Security+ certification (must obtain within 30 days if not currently held)
U.S. Citizenship required
One of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of DevOps experience
8+ years of relevant DevOps/Cloud engineering experience
Technical Requirements:
Core Competencies
Strong experience with DoD security compliance (STIGs, IAVMs, RMF documentation)
Proven track record implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in classified environments
Extensive experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
Advanced Linux system administration (RHEL preferred)
Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform, Ansible)
Cloud platform experience (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)
Required Technical Skills
GitLab administration and pipeline development
Container orchestration with OpenShift/Kubernetes
Infrastructure automation with Terraform and Ansible
AWS services (particularly within GovCloud)
Database administration (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Elasticsearch/OpenSearch implementation
Version control with Git
Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration
Security Focus
Experience implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Knowledge of DoD security documentation requirements
Experience with security scanning tools and remediation
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure and Cloud Management
Design and implement secure cloud architecture within DoD guidelines
Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments in classified environments
Ensure compliance with DoD security requirements and best practices
Lead cross-functional teams in defining secure infrastructure requirements
CI/CD Pipeline Development
Develop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines for classified systems
Implement deployment strategies aligned with DoD security protocols
Automate build, test, and deployment processes
Ensure code security through pipeline integration
Security and Compliance
Implement and maintain security controls per DoD requirements
Conduct security assessments and vulnerability remediation
Collaborate with security teams on RMF documentation
Ensure continuous compliance with DoD standards
System Reliability
Monitor system performance and security in classified environments
Implement logging and monitoring solutions
Lead incident response and problem resolution
Maintain high availability for mission-critical systems

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00
