VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Hickory Ridge is seeking a highly experienced Veterinary Assistant or RVT to join our one-of-a-kind 6-doctor Primary Care practice !

VCA Hickory Ridge has been serving the Howard County and surrounding area for 50 years. We are a dedicated team of professionals from diverse backgrounds that are well-trained and highly skilled. We are an AHAA accredited and AAFP Silver Certified Cat Friendly Practice. We are a team of Fear Free Certified Professionals dedicated to creating and maintaining a Fear Free environment for all of our patients and clients. We believe in providing the best, most progressive care to our patients while giving our clients an amazing experience.

Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of assistant or tech experience, is comfortable with all sample collection, catheter placement, anesthetic monitoring, radiology, and client education. The successful candidate will share our passion for patient care, high quality medicine and client experience, while being dedicated to creating and maintaining a healthy work environment. The candidate we are looking for is open to learning new ideas, sharing their ideas with the team, and working hard to help shape a low stress/stress free experience for patients, clients, and each other.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour (dependent on experience and credentials)

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift

  • 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:

Masks are optional when in the building, curbside service is always available, surfaces and high-touch areas are sanitized regularly.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Columbia, MD 21044: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Veterinary experience: 3 years (Required)
