Position: Inventory Clerk – Columbia Falls

Division: Business Integration

Department: Supply Chain

Schedule: Full-Time

Reports To: Inventory Control Lead

The Inventory Clerk supports the Supply Chain Department by completing routine clerical work and administrative activities, as well as support the Manufacturing Team by delivering its material needs.

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

  • Promote and participate in a safe working environment.

  • Create and process purchase orders and obtain purchase order approvals.

  • Send purchase orders and obtain order confirmations from vendors.

  • Research and communicate the status of orders to organization members.

  • Update electronic records.

  • Track shipments and document records.

  • Link the Supply Chain Department with other internal departments and work together.

  • Assist the Finance Department in pricing discrepancies.

  • Practice constant verbal and written communication with internal and external customers regarding orders via e-mail, telephone, and in person.

  • Maintain ERP database reliability.

  • Update master files of parts when changes are authorized.

  • Execute non-routine orders outside of job requirement reports.

  • Maintain records retention using electronic and hardcopy filing systems.

  • Perform data entry, faxing, scanning, telephone conversations, and other duties as requested, clerical, and non-clerical.

  • After receiving onsite training, must be able operate forklift to transport, load, and unload supplies, as the need requires.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Be skilled at internet/web searches and researching companies’ credibility, products, prices, etc.

    Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.

  • The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.

    Working Environment:

  • The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.

  • The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.

  • The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time, which will be provided.

  • There is some exposure to strong odors and fumes.

  • All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times in manufacturing areas. The employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED. Additional education preferred.

  • Strong computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • 45-50 WPM typing with 10-Key (adding machine / calculator).

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Must have good communication, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Must be willing to listen, learn, and follow instructions.

  • Previous experience in administrative support and data entry is desired.

  • Previous forklift experience helpful but not required (training provided).
