Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient VMOC Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our growing Space & Geospatial team. In this role you will install, integrate, and maintain the Virtual Mission Operations Center (VMOC) within the Mission Data Processing Application Framework (MDPAF). This opportunity requires expertise in Kubernetes, YAML configurations, API management, and custom software development for mission-specific plugins.
What You'll Be Doing:
Install and configure VMOC and its integration with MDPAF, ensuring compliance with specified security and operational standards.
Develop and maintain YAML configuration files and Kubernetes deployments to manage VMOC components effectively.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VMOC installations, including integration with MDPAF’s Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and other subsystems.
Troubleshoot and resolve C2MS messages and MDPAF API interfaces using gRPC and Kafka.
Write and maintain mission-unique plugin code tailored to specific operational requirements.
Ensure VMOC’s Keycloak authentication is seamlessly integrated into MDPAF’s RBAC system.
Coordinate with system engineers to ensure that VMOC onboarding processes align with the overall intent of the MDPAF requirements.
Address and integrate functionalities such as AWE, status reporting, and archiving as per program needs and design constraints.
Enhance mission-unique capabilities to support demo sensor tasking and demo sensor modeling, including real-time tasking and planned scheduling, demonstrating the functionalities in operational demo scenarios.
Manage custom content messaging within VMOC, ensuring clarity and accuracy in demonstration outputs.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of relevant experience
Proven experience with Kubernetes, API management, and YAML configurations.
Strong programming skills and experience in developing custom plugins for operational systems.
In-depth knowledge of role-based access control systems and their integration into existing platforms.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system integration issues.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions without reliance on external consultations.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Previous experience in defense or aerospace industries
Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

Salary Range:
$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
