Description We are presenting an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the IT Software industry to join our team located in COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, monitoring and preparing detailed reports, analyzing and reviewing spreadsheets and other data, and conducting regular and thorough reviews of financial statements. The role also entails project accounting, use of accounting software, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and collaborating with internal and external auditors.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis, including bank reconciliation.

• Monitor and prepare detailed reports on the company's aging accounts receivable and payable.

• Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

• Analyze and review spreadsheets and other data to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies in financial data, resolving them promptly.

• Conduct regular and thorough reviews of financial statements to verify their accuracy and completeness, making necessary adjustments as needed.

• Responsible for project accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of project expenses.

• Deliver detailed monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reconciliations.

• Use accounting software (Excel, Great Plains, and Unanet) to efficiently manage and organize data.

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and rules for all operations.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors as needed to ensure effective and reliable internal controls.

• Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.

• Provide inputs to managers on financial results, forecasts, and budgets.

• Implement measures to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.

• Stay up-to-date with evolving accounting standards and regulations.

• Represent the finance team in meetings and presentations, explaining accounting principles and concepts in understandable terms to non-accounting staff members. Requirements • Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations is essential.

• Demonstrated experience in general ledger management and journal entries is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial calculations and data management.

• Experience in month end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for accounting and financial management.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in the IT Software industry.

• Advanced understanding of accounting principles and regulations.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to create financial reports.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

• Strong communication skills for presenting financial information.
