Description
Robert Half is seeking a Purchasing Agent with 4+ years' experience for our client in the home-building industry on a contract-to-hire basis.
The Purchasing Agent plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of products. Additionally, they assist the Director of Purchasing in developing department policies, procedures, and budgets. Responsibilities:
Manage JDE accounting issues related to contracts or trade partner qualifications with Corporate.
Assist in recruiting new Suppliers/Trade Partners, reviewing bids, and maintaining trade base.
Negotiate pricing, manage contracts, payments, and product replacements.
Prepare Bid Comparison and assist in selecting preferred bidders.
Review and analyze scopes of work for quality control and standardization.
Oversee BuildPro for purchasing (Trade Partner Payment System).
Prepare quantity take-offs and maintain take-offs within company software.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and review/change orders.
Prepare site condition reports and quarterly corporate reports for Rebates.
Continually seek new products, materials, and processes.
Act as a liaison between subcontractors, departments, and provide support to Construction and Sales.
Review plans and revise budgets for new and ongoing communities.
Assist Director of Purchasing with administrative tasks.
Cross-train in all purchasing areas for versatility.
Maintain professionalism and foster a positive team environment.
Communicate effectively and facilitate information flow between departments.
Participate in training as needed, including product knowledge and software proficiency.
Adhere to departmental guidelines and company policies.
Requirements
4+ years in a purchasing role.
Experience in the Residential Construction industry is preferred.
Experience with BuildPro and JD Edwards software systems is preferred but not required.
Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Must demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
