Apogee Engineering Program Cost / Control Analyst in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Apogee is seeking a Program Cost/Control Analyst to join our Finance and Accounting team in Colorado Springs, CO. The Analyst will assume financial controllership over a portfolio of projects, providing cradle-to-grave project cost control, monthly reporting, and analysis to both external customers and internal stakeholders. The Program Cost/Control Analyst will be hands-on with several projects of varying types and complexity. This role provides abundant opportunities to learn project control nuances and to acquire new skills. This is a full-time role in Colorado Springs, CO with hybrid flexibility three days per week. Apogee is known for an unwavering dedication to our client's success, a warm and employee-centric work environment, and an enthusiasm to provide the right solution at the right What you will be doing: What you will be doing: Initiate and manage project setup and maintenance (includes project numbers, billing and revenue formulas, ceilings, labor categories, workforce, etc.) Communicate timecard and expense practices for projects and proactively monitor project timecards. Review subcontractor invoices for compliance and enter AP expense in Deltek Costpoint Prepare and submit monthly invoices and monitor payments using Deltek Costpoint and relevant payment systems. Prepare financial data to support Monthly Status Reports and Program Management Reviews, including estimates and budget variance data. Process required project reports, monitor project costs, and identify and resolve issues within the core project team (Operations and Contracts) Monitor contract and subcontractor funding status and initiate requests for additional funds.
Conduct and present complex financial analyses (variance, risk, profit/loss, etc.).
Use cross-functional knowledge in business and financial management, contracts, scheduling, and risk management to provide oversight and guidance to staff of all levels to ensure contract financial and reporting compliance.
Prepare pricing for project scope changes.
Process contract modifications in relevant IT systems
Assist in contract/project closeout activities Minimum Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree with Accounting emphasis Years of Experience: 5-7 years of experience in accounting, finance, or project control experience. Experienced in AP/AR Must be able to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. Should be able to read a contract to understand the financial terms applicable Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, identifying trends, and data red flags. Previous experience in financial charting for monthly status reports Experience with MS Office to include Word and Excel Preferred Experience: Education and Experience: 7-9 years experience in accounting, finance, or project control with a DoD or federal background. Benefits: The base pay for this position is $69,863 - $104,794 across the U.S. There is also a different range applicable for specific work locations. Base pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, training, and education. Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with an HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military, and jury duty paid leaves. Regular part-time employees scheduled for twenty-four or ore hours per work week are eligible for benefits on a pro-rated basis.
