Planner Analyst Senior

The Water Operations Work Management team is seeking a Planner Analyst Senior to plan, schedule, and perform analyses for various work groups within the Water service line. This position directly impacts the reliability of our water systems and services and our organization's ability to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of water service to our customers.

As a Planner Analyst Senior , you will be responsible for managing multiple programs of work which could include any of the following: Cathodic Protection, Condition Assessment, Leak Detection & Survey, Raw Water Operations, Raw Water Pipeline, Water & Wastewater Construction Maintenance, Water Distribution Operations, Water Instrumentation & Control or others; depending on aptitude, background, and experience. Successful candidates in this role will be accountable to building productive, cross-functional relationships and promoting a positive and collaborative culture and work environment – with an emphasis on identifying and implementing best practices to create organizational business efficiencies.

A day in the life of a Planner Analyst Senior may include:

  • Facilitating and conducting complex analytical planning activities for the schedule and layout of critical construction and/or operations projects

  • Managing multiple work groups and programs of work with a variety of applications and software

  • Handling more complex tasks, including work breakdown structures, long-range scheduling, outages, and detailed project performance analysis

  • Scheduling, preparing, planning, reviewing, and analyzing projects and work order requests amongst resource availability and SLA’s

  • Leading projects and initiatives, as well as providing guidance, and mentoring other Planner Analysts

  • Estimating labor and equipment costs for proposed projects, as well as routine jobs

  • Conducting root cause analysis and process improvement

  • Analyzing, reviewing, and monitoring performance levels while recommending areas of improvement

  • Coordinating and overseeing quality control activities

  • Proficient in managing and accounting for both Operational & Maintenance (O&M) and Capital project aspects

  • Monitoring long-term projects using analytical reports and scheduling tools

  • Preparing charts, graphs, and other reports for management

  • Creating and maintaining 3-week Schedules

  • Conducting pre-planning inspections and performing field job scoping tasks

  • Researching and locating parts and materials to ensure the execution of project tasks

  • Identifying areas of opportunity for the improvement of efficiency across all facets of work management

  • Maintaining and updating Maximo, related records, asset registries, and reports

  • Advocating for Work Management initiatives and proven ability to persuade stakeholders through ongoing dialogue

  • Building and maintaining favorable relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders (internal and external)

  • Collaborating effectively to achieve project goals

  • Contributing to successful budget development and job forecasting in partnership with other leaders

  • Covering duties of PA Supervisor in their absence or as needed

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Schedule, prepare, plan, review, and analyze work order requests and projects

  • Estimate labor and equipment costs for proposed projects

  • Conduct pre-planning inspections and perform field job scoping tasks

  • Attend pre-construction and/or pre-outage meetings

  • Research and locate parts and materials

  • Schedule tasks for project or crew workforce

  • Analyze, review, and monitor performance levels; recommend areas of improvement

  • Maintain a rolling three-week schedule for all programs of work; prepare and use long-range scheduling of capital projects and align with rolling three-week schedules

  • Prepare analytical charts, graphs, and other reports for management

  • Maintain and update the work management system and related records and reports

  • Building and strengthening relationships across all work groups

Who You Are

  • Demonstrated understanding of construction processes and/or complex utility systems

  • Subject matter expert familiar with the utilization of both linear and vertical asset systems

  • Experience with using Maximo and other systems of record

  • Experienced and proficient with working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI, Word, etc.)

  • Knowledge of foundational Work Management principles

  • Completion of a Utility apprenticeship and/or direct field experience is valued

  • Possession of relevant State License(s) (Colorado Certified Water Professionals) is valued

  • A college degree is valued

  • Strong technical skills related to data management and reporting

  • Skilled in logistically supporting work tasks and assignments utilizing resource forethought and anticipation

  • A valid, unrestricted driver's license is required for this role
