Hiring Range: $50,000.00 - $53,300.00 annually (salary to be commensurate with qualifications)

This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, subject to change. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt.

Responsible for developing and conducting compliance reviews and audits within the Justice Services Department. Analyzes potential risks to program and audit findings; advises leadership on any needed action; participates in training. Collaborates with staff to improve program excellence.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Performs regular quality assessments on processes and procedures within Justice Services programs.

  • Develops and implements compliance auditing plans. Develops scheduling and tracking systems to complete audits.

  • Coordinates and conducts internal and external audits for contract and program standards compliance. Reviews relevant program documents, and analyzes findings from audits, Compiles reports and communicates audit findings to program leadership, including any proposed, needed, or immediate actions.

  • Ensures compliance with established standards, procedures, policies, and statutes by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.

  • Recommends compliance objectives and improvements to address policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Meets with program teams about quality control, concerns, and findings to improve performance excellence. Assists in coordinating and providing training as appropriate.

  • Analyzes potential risks to programs and practices to avoid possible compliance issues.

  • Provides administrative support for the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.

  • Contributes to team effort by completing other duties as needed.

  • Attends trainings, conferences, and workshops to maintain knowledge to support compliance resolution.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Colorado State Statutes concerning pretrial services, community corrections, and criminal violations.

  • Knowledge of justice services, court procedures, and the criminal justice system.

  • Knowledge and understanding of victim rights notification.

  • Must be honest, trustworthy, and possess a high degree of personal integrity.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including delivering reports and public presentations.

  • Ability to collect, review, and present statistical and technical data.

  • Ability to utilize standard research and investigation practices and procedures.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and reprioritize as work situations change.

  • Ability to independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County staff, elected officials, court officials, co-workers, community agencies, and the public.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computer, calculator, telephone, copy machine and fax machine. Proficiency with databases and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.

  • Two years of criminal justice experience.

  • Minimum one year experience in program compliance, data analysis, or auditing.

  • Any equivalent combination of related education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job will be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, criminal justice, or a related field.

  • Experience working with community corrections, pretrial, or justice services programs.

Licenses/Certificates:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification or have the ability to successfully obtain within ninety days of employment.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen.

Work Conditions

Duties are primarily performed in an office and remote work environment dependent upon Department discretion and business needs; some travel required. Must be able to work a variety of days and times, including weekends and holidays.
