Job Title: HVAC, Hydronics, Boiler, Chiller Service Technician

Department: Service

Classification: Full Time - Non-Exempt 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week Position may require daily overtime On-call Rotation

Job Summary: Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains HVAC, hydronic, boiler and chiller systems.

Reports to: HVAC Manager Direct Reports: No

Essential Functions: Install, repair, maintains and troubleshoots furnaces, boilers, humidifiers, air conditioning systems, heat pumps and control wiring, HVAC, and chiller systems. Through the troubleshooting process, orders parts necessary to fix equipment and request purchase orders Help customers understand their equipment options and help make decisions on their systems. Be able to communicate efficiently with the employee supervisor, co-workers, office personnel and customers Understands and adheres to the safety requirements of this position and changing surroundings. Reviews customers' historical repair records to create an effective inspection schedule when performing repair work. Schedules inspections with proper AHJ. Responds to emergencies like no heat, no air conditioning Helps educate customers on the functions of newly installed equipment Works as an independent member of a team and serves in the after-hours call rotation. Occasionally trains apprentices through onsite training. Participates in ongoing trade education

Education: Union trade certification, 3 years field experience Mech 4 license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Mech-4 license Colorado Driver's license and clean driving record required Strong knowledge of City, State and Regional Building Department codes Knowledge of related equipment operation Knowledge of combustion and flue requirements Ability to interpret technical data related to the trade Team player skills Self-motivation skills Ability to present a clean and professional appearance while wearing company uniforms Will be expected to keep company equipment clean inside and out as well as organized Ability to complete associated paperwork for billing and collect payments from customers Self-motivation skills

Work Environment: This job operates in commercial and homeowner environments. The role routinely includes driving to multiple worksites each day and working in unfamiliar environments.

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively, use eye/hand coordination, use motor skills, and lift 50 pounds without assistance. The employee must be able to carry and use ladders and all necessary material for specific jobs. Routinely and works in confined spaces, crawlspaces, attics, and ditches. The employee must be able to stoop, crawl, balance, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Job duties will require the employee to speak, hear, and understand verbal communication.
