Job summaryOne focus area of the Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) mission isto provide tools, resources, and environments that support safe,efficient, healthy behaviors and encourage employees to proactively managetheir health and wellbeing. To support this focus area, Amazon is seeking afull-time WHS Specialist (WHSS) to serve as a designated representativefor their assigned building coordinating and implementing all areas of theAmazon Global Program as directed by the leadership. The WHSS promotes apositive culture while complying with Amazon standards and maintaining a safework environment. This includes conducting trainings and coaching associateson observed work habits.The WHSS is required to maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthlymetrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reportingsystems. The WHSS supports management's efforts to ensure compliance withall corporate Program expectations and applicable federal & state laws. TheWHSS also conducts risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job HazardAnalysis) and new equipment introductions. In addition, the WHSS isresponsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures tomanagement, including ergonomics. Candidate must be willing to work anyshift, based on availability. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsitemanagement teams and corporate based reporting systemsSupport management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate programexpectations and applicable federal and state lawsConduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis)and new equipment introductionsResponsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures tomanagement, including ergonomicsAvailable to work flexible shifts including days, nights and/or weekendsHigh school or equivalent diploma* Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910* Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity* Experience maintaining confidentiality in matter involving security and/orpersonnel issues in the workplaceMust have one of the following:* A minimum of 1 year in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field* A Bachelor's degree in EHS-relevant background* 6 months experience performing in a safety-related role within AmazonBachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a safety related fieldStrong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skillsExperience leading and managing a team ability to analyze accident data, newprocesses, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct jobhazard and job safety analysesExperience in emergency response and currently holds First Aid and CPRcertificatesExperience in workers compensation case managementThe pay range for this position in Colorado is $47,500 - $53,000annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-relatedknowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stockunits may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to afull range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent onthe position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal PayAct. Base pay information is based on market location.
