Lockheed Martin Cyber Security Engineer- Tools Team in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Work

As a Cyber Engineering Technical Specialist supporting the Lockheed Martin RMS Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the security posture of critical systems. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing and testing patches to mitigate vulnerabilities in Software, Hardware, and Firmware.

• Managing vulnerabilities through analysis and remediation of IAVMs, Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs), CVEs, Vendor Patches, and STIG configurations.

• Installing and configuring Linux and Windows operating systems up to the application level.

• Documenting and verifying all installation and configuration steps for laboratory environments.

• Creating test plans and procedures for software integration and unit testing.

• Collaborating with software developers and vendors to diagnose and resolve integration issues.

• Following Agile processes to submit problem reports and coordinate integration activities with Cross Functional Product Teams (CFPTs).

• Developing and implementing Cyber Technical Procedures (TPs) in lab environments.

• Installing and conducting unit tests on Cyber Products such as ESS, ACAS, BigFix, Endgame, and KMS.

• Providing redlines and feedback to engineers and Cyber Leadership.

• Documenting lessons learned, best security engineering practices, and industry standards as part of daily tasks.

• This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

• This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and is 100% onsite.

We are looking for a skilled Cyber Engineering Technical Specialist who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• Proven experience in developing and testing patches for software, hardware, and firmware vulnerabilities.

• Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems, including installation and configuration.

• Strong documentation skills and ability to create detailed test plans and procedures.

• Experience working within Agile development processes.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

A level 3 employee is typically mid-career and has 3 to 5+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent 5+ years of experience or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.

- Experience with Delinea or equivalent cyber tools.

- DoDI 8570 certification (e.g., GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP).

- Working knowledge of Cybersecurity technologies, NIST standards, and RMF governance

- Demonstrated hands on experience with industry standard Cybersecurity tools such as Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), NESSUS, Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS), End-point-security (ENS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and Arcsight

- Experience applying Cybersecurity configurations such as Firmware updates/upgrades and STIGs to a baselined system

- Technical trouble shooting of software applications and integrating COTS products.

Desired Skills:

- Hands on experience with Python and/or Powershell scripting.

- Experience scripting, installing, and testing patches on system hosts

- Proven experience executing Security Hardening on diverse LINUX and Windows Operating Systems based on approved DISA STIGs and SRGs

- Demonstrated experience analyzing and implementing NIST SP 800-53 Security Controls on wide range of Information Systems including Enterprise Datacenters, Mobile units and Virtualized environments

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $93,400 - $179,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
