The clinical auditor performs clinical and operational audits as a means of verifying accuracy of information and compliance to established policies, practices, and regulations. Responsible for quality review of care process from physician order, registration, chart documentation, charging, and billing to reimbursement. Has collaborative relationship with revenue integrity advisors for root cause analysis and education of departments.

Day to Day;

  • Responsible for working the Charge audit queues for Penrose OR and GI Lab

  • Verify complete charges are entered and supplies/equipment captured

  • Assist with monthly tissue audits

  • Provide backup to surgery scheduler as needed

Must have an understanding of OR operations, types of cases being done.

Solid clinical understanding of all clinical aspects of the OR required

Must be an RN with OR experience

16 OR Suites

Approx. 250-350+ cases per month

Schedule: 40hrs/week Days-0630-1500

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • High School diploma or GED required,

  • Associates Degree required; Bachelors Degree or BSN preferred.

  • 5 years direct patient care in a hospital setting.

  • RN experience highly preferred; although technical skills and medical experience may substitute.

  • Colorado RN license, preferred

Physical requirements- Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally).

The Surgery Department at Penrose Hospital has 16 OR suites and performs 30 – 40 cases per day. We specialize in heart, vascular, general, gynecology, urology, ortho, spine, neuro, plastics, robotics, and trauma procedures on adult patients only. Our department's mission is to provide the best possible patient care. People would want to join our team due to teamwork, culture, and CNOR certification pay.
