Barilla Deutschland GmbH wants to recruit a Category Bakery Marketing Manager (fmd) – Germany. The position is based in Cologne and reports to the Category Bakery Marketing Sr Manager for Region Central & Northern Europe, who is based in Sweden.

The individual will be responsible for managing, developing and executing brand marketing plans, programs and product launches in Germany for our Bakery brands, with a strong focus on Wasa, Baiocchi and Snacking. Furthermore, the individual will be in charge of analyzing the performance of the managed categories and tracking the budget, while leading and developing one employee.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the Bakery Category in the German Market, including motivating and promoting the professional development of the Team, in close collaboration with the supervisor and Global Teams

  • Definition of the marketing plans in accordance with the positioning and communication strategies of our brands through the formulation and integration of core information regarding the brand/product/geographic region, as well as goals and resource allocation in the areas of innovation, media, packaging, and consumer activities

  • Contribution to the innovation process by identifying consumer gaps and generating relevant and sustainable innovative ideas for the assigned geography, as well as

  • Ensuring the implementation of plans for the launch of new products in collaboration with trade marketing and conducting post-analyses to identify critical elements and success factors to strengthen and expand the presence of our brands

  • Continuous market observation to gain an appropriate understanding of supply and demand trends through data collection, research, constant contact with sales structures, and analysis of brand awareness and customer needs/reactions

  • Implement the brand positioning and communication strategy in alignment with the guidelines set by CoEs with the goal of creating and strengthening brand value and image in the assigned geography

  • Implementation of the local promotional programs and campaigns for the managed brands by managing relationships with external agencies and overseeing various steps from briefing to final approval of texts

  • Supporting the redesign of packaging and/or graphics with the goal of repositioning the company's offerings, setting the schedule for the entire project and its key steps

  • Contributing to the creation of sales forecasts as part of budget and forecast activities by providing data and information to assess market development, marketing activities, market trends, and planned commercial actions

  • Ensuring the proper tracking of marketing expenses by initiating measures to resolve critical situations

  • Defining the most effective marketing plans for the managed brands to ensure consistent monitoring of the performance of managed products and the market in terms of supply and demand trends, as well as information management to other departments (trade marketing, finance, global counterparts) within the guidelines and instructions given by the supervisor

    Qualifications

  • Great record of accomplishment, with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in marketing in the FMCG setting. Any additional experience in Sales or Trade Marketing will be considered a strong advantage

  • Excellent communication skills in German and English

  • Strong people management skills, by driving shared goals, building trust and using an open communication

  • Demonstration of leadership and ownership, showing curiosity and creativity, while building strong and trustful relationships

  • Strategic vision, ability to manage complex and multiple tasks and to strengthen and develop the business, while acting autonomously in execution

  • Project management and analytical skills with a strong “can do” attitude that allows sound decisions making within established guidelines

  • International growth mindset, ideally proven with international experiences
